CMCCI starts fair price sale of essential commodities during Ramadan
CHATTOGRAM, May 16, 2019 (BSS) – The Chattogram Metropolitan Chamber of
Commerce & Industries (CMCCI) started selling of essential commodities at
fair prices for the low income group people in the port city during the holy
month of Ramadan from Thursday.
City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin inaugurated the fair price sale programme of
CMCCI in front of their office this morning.
The city mayor in his inaugural speech lauded the initiative taken by CMCCI
and urged all businessmen to come forward to keep the prices of daily
commodities at a tolerable level.
CMCCI president industrialist Khalilur Rahman said as part of the
programme, CMCCI will sell daily necessary goods in subsidized prices till
26th Ramadan.
The CMCCI is initially selling fine rice at Taka 25, Soyabean oil at Taka
70 and sugar at Taka 40 per kilogram (Kg) in the outlet and it will add more
products in the outlet and open two more outlets soon.
CMCCI vice President A M Mahbub Chowdhury, CMCCI directors Liakat Ali
Chowdhury, Mohammad Jashim Uddin Chowdhury and ward councillor Shoibal Das
Suman were present during the inaugural function.
