Govt to bring every village under electrification by 2018: Nasrul

 NAOGAON, April 1, 2018 (BSS) – State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today said the government would ensure supply of electricity to every village across the country by December 2018.

“Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, every corner of the country is being illuminated by electricity as the government is working relentlessly to bring all upazilas under this facility by December 2018,” he told a function as the chief guest at Porsha upazila of the district.

Porsha upazila Awami League organized the function on the occasion of electrification of some villages under six unions with its president and upazila parisad chairman Alhaj M Anwarul Islam in the chair.

Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad Shahiduzzaman, District Awami League general secretary Sadhan Chandra Majumder MP, Salim Uddin Tarafdar MP, Niamatpur upazila Awami League president M Enamul Haque, Mahbubul Hossain of REB and Principal Alhaj Manzur Morshed addressed the function.

The state minister said all the educational institutions would be brought under power coverage by June 30 this year as Bangladesh is now being familiarized with the name of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Referring to huge mango production in the area, Nasrul said the government would supply natural gas for mango related industries, adding, “The government is encouraging planned industrial zone in the country and if necessary we will ensure gas supply for industries.”

He urged the common people to cast their votes for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s boat in the next general elections to keep development in a speedier pace.

The state minister inaugurated the 100 percent electrification connection for 5,891 consumers in six unions.
