Quader returns home

DHAKA, May 15, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) General Secretary and
Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader returned home today after
taking treatment at a hospital in Singapore.

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight (BG-085) carrying Quader landed at
Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here at 5:55 pm.

Leaders and activists of Awami League and its associate organizations
received Obaidul Quader at the airport.

AL presidium member and agriculture minister Dr Abdur Razzaque, AL joint
general secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif and advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak,
organising secretaries state minister for shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury
and agriculturist AFM Bahauddin Nasim, AL publicity and publication secretary
and Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, AL legal affairs secretary and
Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim, former shipping minister
Shajahan Khan, chairman of parliamentary standing committee on the ministry
of textile and jute Mirza Azam, Dhaka north city unit president of AL Sadek
Khan, among others, were present.

Earlier, on March 3, the AL general secretary was admitted to
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital after suffering
breathing complications.

Tests revealed three blockages in his coronary artery and later he was
flown to Singapore for better treatment under the supervision of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He underwent a bypass surgery in Singapore Mount Elizabeth Hospital on
March 20.
