Testimony in Dandy Dyeing loan default case Nov 14

DHAKA, May 15, 2019 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today set November14 to record testimony of the witnesses in Dandy Dyeing loan default case against BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, her son and party acting chairman Tarique Rahman and 14 others.

Judge Jahangir Hossain of Artha Rin Adalat-1 set the date, accepting a time plea of the defence. The court passed the order as the defence drew court’s attention to the fact that High Court has stayed proceedings of the case for six months.

Sonali Bank senior executive officer Nazrul Islam of bank’s principal office filed the case with Dhaka Artha Rin Adalat-1 on October 2, 2013, for defaulting Taka 45.59 crore loans from the bank.

The court on February 2, 2016, framed charges in the case.

The accused in the case are: Dandy Dying Limited, Begum Khaleda Zia, Tarique Rahman, Arafat Rahma Koko’s wife Sharmila Rahman, daughters Jafiha Rahman, Jahia Rahman, Sayeed Eskander’s sons Shams Eskander, Safin Eskander, daughter Sumaia Eskander, wife Begum Nasrin Ahmed, Gias Uddin Al Mamun, his wife Shahina Yasmin, Qazi Galib Ahmed, Mozaffer Ahmed, his wife Shamsun Nahar and Masud Hasan.
