Road mishap kills motorcyclist in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, March 31, 2018 (BSS)-A motorcyclist was killed as he was
hit by a truck at Kalupur on Shibganj-Monakasha road in Shibganj upazila of
the district on Friday night.
Police sources said the deceased was identified as Abdur Rouf, 45, son of
late Jainal Abedin of Ponerorashia village under the same upazila.
Rouf’s co-rider Jewel Rana, 40, son of late Jhatu of the same area, was
injured in the accident.
The sources said Rouf and Jewel were returning home from Shibganj Bazar by
a motorcycle. As they reached Kalupur, the truck coming from the opposite
direction hit the motorcycle killing Rouf on the spot.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot, recovered the dead body and
detained the truck.
The driver of the truck managed to flee away, the sources added.
