Five Dinajpur schools get new academic buildings

DINAJPUR, May 11, 2019 (BSS) – Four educational institutions of the district would get new academic building by June 2020.

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury laid the foundation of the four-storied buildings at a function at Dhukur Jhari College ground here today.

Education Engineering Department (EED) would construct the buildings at a cost of Taka 13.65 crore.

New academic buildings would be constructed at Murial High School, Dhukur Jhari High School and Dhukur Jhari College in Biral Upazila, Boro Sultanpur High School and Boroil High School in Bhochagonj Upazila.

Assistant Engineer of the EED Mamun Islam said the contractors were asked to handover the newly constructed buildings to the school authorities by June 30, 2020.

Addressing a function on the occasion at Dhukur Jhari College ground Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said that the buildings would be modern ones and time-befitting which would have digital class room and better learning facilities.

Each floor of the building woud have 3,200 cft space

Additional Secretary of the home ministry Md. Nurul Islam presided over the function while Chairman of Biral Upazila Md. Mostafizur Rahman Babu, president of Biral Upazila Awami League Abdul Latif, teacher Kaiser Ali and freedom fighter Arshed Ali spoke, among others, on the occasion.

Khaled Mahmud Chowdhury said the present government of Sheikh Hasina has attached importance to eradicate illiteracy and build up youths with modern and time-befitting education.

In view of this, he said the government is allocating fund for construction of all primary, secondary, college and madrasas upto grassroots level.

He urged everybody to send their children to school when them become eligible for enrollment.
