DHAKA, March 30, 2018 (BSS)- Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon today said the people with disabilities are not a burden for society, rather they can play roles in the development of society, if they get necessary supports.
“The present government is a disabled-friendly government and the Prime Minister has special initiatives in this field…The people with disabilities are not a burden for society, rather they can play roles in the development of society,” he said, speaking at a workshop at BMA auditorium here.
Officials and employees of Protibandhi Seba O Shahajyo Kendra Kollyan Parishad of National Protibandhi Unnyan Foundation organized the workshop with its president Rezaul Karim in the chair.
Neuro Development Protection Trust Professor Dr Golam Rabbani presented a key-note paper.
Menon urged all to come forward to help the people with disabilities as they can play roles in developing themselves as well as the country.
He said the Jatiya Protibandhi Foundation would be made into a directorate soon.
