AHSANULLAH-DEATH-ANNIVERSARY
15th death anniversary of Ahsanullah Master observed
DHAKA, May 7, 2019 (BSS) – The 15th death anniversary of veteran freedom fighter, labour leader and teacher Ahsanullah Master was observed today.
Different programmes were chalked out at different places in the city and Gazipur district.
As part of the programme, Awami League (AL) Labour and Manpower Affairs Secretary Habibur Rahman Siraj, Meher Afroz Chumki, MP, Begum Shamsun Nahar Bhuiyan, MP, AL leader and Gazipur District Council chairman Akhtaruzzaman, AL Gazipur city unit president and central committee leader Advocate Azmat Ullah Khan and National University (NU) Pro-vice chancellor Prof Mashiur Rahman placed floral wreaths at his grave in the morning at his village Haidrabad under Gazipur City Corporation.
The programmes also included Quran Khwani, wearing of black badges, milad and doa mahfils, food distribution and memorial meetings.
A memorial meeting was held near Ahsanullah Master’s grave with his elder son and State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel in the chair.
Parliamentary Standing Committee member on Labor and Employment Begum Shamsun Nahar Bhuiyan and Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Jahangir Alam spoke on the occasion.
Besides, AL and other organizations organized doa mahfil and discussion in city’s Tongi area.
Earlier, Ahsan Ullah Master Smriti Parishad organised a memorial meeting on Sunday at Jatiya Press Club.
On May 7 in 2004, a group of terrorists patronized by the then four-party alliance government, led by BNP, killed him on MA Majid Mia High School ground in Gazipur.
