DHAKA, March 28, 2018 (BSS) – Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque today said teachers should be devoted to the society for creating a new generation with the spirit of the Liberation War.

The minister said the freedom fighters under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman have brought independence of the country, so the new generation should uphold the spirit of the Liberation War for the overall progress of the nation.

He said this while addressing the 151th basic orientation course of BCS Education Cadre trainees organised by National Education Management (Naeem) at Naeem Bhaban here marking the Independence and National Day.

The present government is working on a comprehensive action plan for the overall success of the nation, Haque said, adding that to make the comprehensive plan a success the new generation should work with the spirit of Independence War.

The young generation with time befitting education is a must to make the country as prosperous, the minister opined.

Haque said the well-educated new generation will be able to reach the country to the peak of development and the dedicated teachers should build a well-educated new generation.

He further said after the killing of Bangabandhu’s family, the true history of the War of Liberation was distorted by a section of vested quarters and then the young generation was deprived of real history.

“The government is working to maintain the history and consciousness of the War of Liberation, thus the new generation will have to devote themselves to the development of Bangladesh.”

Director General of the Naeem Dr Syed Md Golam Faruk presided over the meeting.
