JS body for increasing manpower to boost rail link

DHAKA, May 05, 2019 (BSS) – The Parliamentary Standing Committee on
Ministry of Railways today recommended recruiting more manpower in Bangladesh
Railway to further accelerate the railway communication.

The committee came up with the recommendation at its 3rd meeting at the
Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here with Committee Chairman ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury
in the chair, said a press release.

Committee members Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon, Shafiqul Islam
Shimul and Begum Nadia Yasmin Joly attended the meeting.

The committee also suggested the ministry for ensuring cleanliness of
railway stations across the country.

It recommended the ministry not to increase lease period of railways in
private sector rather conducting railways under the government supervision,
freeing the land of railway from illegal occupations to built infrastructures
under government supervision that can earn more revenue for the government.

Railways secretary and director general of Bangladesh Railway and high
officials of the ministry and the Parliament Secretariat were present on the
occasion.
