10 Bangladeshi killed in Saudi Arabia road accident

DHAKA, May 2, 2019 (BSS) – At least 10 Bangladeshi expatriate workers were killed in a road accident in Saudi Arabia today.

“The accident took place when a microbus carrying 17 Bangladeshi expatriate workers fell into a roadside deep ditch as its tyres were burst out,” Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Moshi told BSS over telephone.

Among the passengers, he said, 10 Bangladeshi nationals were killed and seven others injured. “Five received serious injuries while two minors,” he added.

The critically injured passengers were rushed to the hospital, he said.

The Bangladeshi expatriate employees, work in a catering service, were transferring to Medina from Dammam, the ambassador said.

Moshi said he has already sent mission officials to the scene from Riyadh, 200 miles away from the accident spot, to indentify the deceased and provide support to the injured.
