DHAKA, Mar 26, 2018 (BSS) – Like previous years, the world’s search engine giant is celebrating the 48th Independence and National Day of Bangladesh by replacing its regular home page graphic with a special doodle.

The doodle, dedicated to the people of Bangladesh, commemorates the day with a depiction of the country’s red and green flag waving proudly over the landscape.

“Forty-seven years ago today, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared long-sought-after independence, marking the birth of the nation of Bangladesh,” the Google said for putting the special doodle.

The US multinational technology company also said that Bangladeshi people would celebrate the history and traditions of their country with parades, ceremonies, and music, all set against a backdrop festooned with decorations by day and lit up with the national colors by night.

“Happy Independence Day, Bangladesh!,” the doodle concludes with the wish.

Google, for the first time in its history, posted a special doodle for Bangladesh on its 43rd Independence Day in 2013.

It also posted special doodles for some occasions of the country including the Begum Rokeya Day and the birthday of the eminent writer Humayun Ahmed.
