Pe slams hat-trick as Laos thrash Kyrgyzstan to move into final

DHAKA, April 29, 2019 (BSS) – Pe slammed a brilliant hat-trick enabling tournament favorite Laos to move into the final of Bangamata U-19 Women’s International Gold Cup Football crushing Kyrgyzstan by 7-1 goals in the first semi-final held on Monday at Bangabandhu National Stadium.

In the day’s mach, Pe scored a superb hat-trick with four goals while Ladi Intholia, Monithive and Lanay added one goal each for the winners while Askorova netted the lone goal for the losers.

Laos will now play in the final against winners of second semi-final either Bangladesh or Mongolia scheduled to be held on Saturday (May 4) at the same venue at 6 pm.

The second semi-final will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at the same venue at 6 pm.

Laos, the hot favorite of the tournament, dominated the proceeding, especially in the first half, and took 2-1 lead at the breather.

In the day’s match, forward Pe, the highest scorer with eight goals in the tournament so far, opened an account for Laos with her solo effort in the very 5th minute. Taking a long through pass from Aphatsala in mid field, Pe ran down with the ball and sent the ball home with a powerful shot from the danger zone.

Pe doubled the lead scoring her second goal in the 20th minute with a brilliant placing shot from inside the D-box off a pass from Aphatsala.

Defender Askorova pulled one back for Kyrgyzstan in the 42nd minute with a perfect shot from the vantage position giving no chance to Laos goalie under the bar.

After the resumption, Ladi Inthia further widened Laos’s margin scoring the third goal with a powerful shot from direct free kick.

Monithive scored the fourth goal for Laos in the 74th minute with a shot from close range, giving no chance to helpless Kyrgyzstan goalie under the bar (4-1).

Pe completed her hat-trick goal and fifth goal for her team with a perfect placing shot after dodging past two opponent defenders and finally the custodian who came forward to clear the ball (5-1).

Pe scored her fourth and sixth goal for Laos in the 88th minute from a spot kick (6-1) while Lanay completed the winners’ tally scoring the seventh goal for Laos in the 90+3rd minute of the match (7-1).
