KUSHTIA, March 24, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif today said the people of Bangladesh are in favour of development and progress and they don’t want to see any corrupt party in power again.

“People of the country don’t want to see the corrupt party, BNP, in power again as its chief Begum Khaleda Zia and her son are convicted by the court,” he told journalists after inaugurating a bicycle rally marking the Independence Day on PTI road here.

Local AL leaders and officials of the district administration accompanied him.

“If BNP wants to assess its popularity, I urge the party to join the next elections,” Hanif said.

He said BNP has no possibility of coming in power as the countrymen have not forgotten the horrible memories of their regime from 2001 to 2006.

Later, the AL leader joined a discussion marking the Independence Day at Islamic University.
