Call for generating skilled human resources for developed nation

RAJSHAHI, March 24, 2018 (BSS)-State Minister for Education Kazi Keramat Ali, MP, has said there is no alternative to qualitative and quantitative technical and vocational education for generating competent human resources for the sake of attaining economic emancipation.

He put emphasis on building skilled manpower for turning the country into a middle-income and developed one and said the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to this end.

The state minister was addressing a dissemination workshop on technical education titled “Achievement of 20 percent enrolment in Technical Education by 2020” at Rajshahi Medical College auditorium here on Friday afternoon as chief guest.

Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) and Department of Technical Education jointly organised the workshop where more than 2,000 technical education teachers, officers and students attended.

With Md Alamgir, Secretary to Technical and Madrasa Education Division of the Ministry of Education, in the chair, Additional Secretary to the division Ashok Kumar Biswas, chairman of BTEB Prof Mustafizur Rahman, chairman of Rajshahi Education Board Prof Abul Kalam Azad and deputy commissioner of Rajshahi SM Abdul Kader also spoke.

Kazi Keramat said the present government is committed to furthermore expansion of technical and vocational education to enrich the sector of skilled human resources so that the country can become self-reliant.

He said the government has attached top priority to the technical and vocational education as there is no alternative to it to take the nation forward.

He mentioned that there is no way but to build skilled human resources to make the country self-reliant besides economic emancipation.

“We have no way but to generate more technically and technologically sound people to meet the social demands as it is being increased gradually,” he added. Expansion of technical and vocational education and training can be the effective means of eradicating unemployment problems.

Technical education for the unemployed youths both male and female is very important for substantial and sustainable growth of national economy.

Kazi Kermat urged all concerned to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to supplement the government endeavor of making the country self-reliant.
