Liberation war minister paid homage to Sher-e-Bangla

DHAKA, APRIL 27, 2019 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Minister A K M Mozammel Haque today paid homage to Sher-e-Bangla A K Fazlul Huq, on his 57th anniversary of death.

“The Bengali nation was awakened with his exceptional leadership…He taught the Bengalis to stand upright with pride for realizing their rights,” he said while addressing as the chief guest a discussion and doa mahfil on the Sher-e-Bangla mazar premises.

Crediting Fazlul Huq with possessing outstanding personality and political wisdom, the minister said that, “His efforts to establish a separate homeland for Muslims through the historical Lahore Resolution made him immortal in our political history. He was an excellent law practitioner, and spent his entire life for the wellbeing of poor people”.

Earlier, the minister paid homage to the great leader by placing wreath on his grave.

The discussion was presided over by poet Muhammad Abdul Khalek. Barrister M Amir-ul Islam, member of the drafting committee of Bangladesh constitution, spoke as the main speaker of the discussion.
