Momen warns against taking favour using Bangabandhu’s name

DHAKA, April 26, 2019 (BSS) – Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today warned against any attempt to take undue favours or privileges using the name of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu, urging all believing in the Bangabandhu’s ideology to remain alert against the wrongdoers.

“If anyone is found involved with such acts, the Bangabandhu Foundation will sever relations with him or her,” Momen, also president of Bangabandhu Foundation, told a discussion at the Public Library’s Osmani Memorial auditorium here.

As part of the continuous programmes to celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of independent Bangladesh, the Bangabandhu Foundation arranged the discussion.

Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder addressed the function as the chief guest while State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain attended it as the special guest.

The foreign minister said Bangabandhu used to show respect even to his opponents and urged all citizens of the country irrespective of caste, creed and religion to follow Bangabandhu in terms of showing respect to others.

Momen said the Foreign Ministry will arrange different programmes throughout the year to celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu.
