Digital centre entrepreneurs urged to work for turning villages into towns

RAJSHAHI, April 26, 2019 (BSS) – Speakers at an entrepreneurs conference here today expected that the digital centre entrepreneurs will work for transforming the villages into towns through delivering the civic services to the grassroots people with utmost sincerity and honesty.

They mentioned that the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is intended to turn each of the villages into towns through ensuring urban services to the rural people.

Divisional Commissioner’s office and A2I Project of Prime Minister’s office jointly organised the daylong divisional conference at Rajshahi Medical College auditorium in the city.

Over 1,200 entrepreneurs from Union Digital Centre, Poursaava Digital Centre and City Digital Centre in all eight districts under Rajshahi division attended the conference.

Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton addressed the opening ceremony as the chief guest with Commissioner of Rajshahi division Nur-Ur-Rahman in the chair.

It was also addressed, among others, by A2I Project Director Mustafizur Rahman, Additional Divisional Commissioner Zakir Hossain and Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader.

Mayor Liton urged the entrepreneurs to put in their best efforts to make the centres more effective and dynamic so that they can earn more through providing services to the grassroots people.

Mustafizur Rahman detailed the objectives, implementation strategy and status of the programme and said the major objectives of the process are to provide people with all necessary services at their doorsteps, ensuring accountability and transparency towards establishing a knowledge-based
society and good governance.

The grassroots people are getting their information related necessary services from the digital centres. The digital centres are contributing a lot towards supplementing the government efforts of building ‘Digital Bangladesh’.
