Popularisation of science, ICT-based education stressed

RANGPUR, Arp 25, 2019 (BSS) – Popularisation of modern science and ICT-based education among young students has become vital to make them
knowledgeable citizens befitting for the twenty-first century to further accelerate national progress.

The observation came at closing function of third RZS Science Carnival-2019 organised by Rangpur Zila School (RZS) RZS on Wednesday afternoon on its
ground in the city.

The carnival was arranged to inspire the students of different educational
institutions in science and technology-based modern education for more innovations befitting for the twenty-first century to attain sustainable national development.

Additional District Magistrate Shukria Pervin attended both the inaugural
and closing functions as the chief guest with Head Teacher of Rangpur Zila
School Abu Raihan Md Mizanur Rahman in the chair.

President of Rangpur Regional Government Secondary Teachers’ Association
Abdur Razzaque, Assistant Head Teachers of RZS Shajeda Begum and Rafiul Kader
as special guests addressed the closing function.

Student-scientists of different secondary level educational institutions
of the district had set up stalls showcasing their ninety research works,
scientific innovations and ICT-based digitised technologies on the carnival
ground.

The speakers said the digitisation process using the ICT, computers and
internet was progressing successfully at all levels in building a middle
income digital Bangladesh by 2021 on way to build a developed country by 2041
next.

Abdur Razzaque said the people already started getting government services
quickly in a hassle-free manner from Union Digital Centres and web portals at
upazila and district levels by virtue of the ICT facilities with spread of
the digitisation programme.

The chief guest stressed on popularising science-and ICT- based education
among young students to attain self-sufficiency in all spheres of national
life for building a developed Bangladesh by 2041.

“Adoption of science, ICT-based education has become crucial to speed up
national development through innovations to build a developed Sonar Bangla as
dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” she added.
