Dipu Moni expresses optimism about adequate allocation for education sector

DHAKA, April 24, 2018 (BSS) -Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni today expressed hope that the government would provide satisfactory allocation for the education sector in the national budget of 2019-20 fiscals.

“The government is determined to provide adequate budgetary allocation for flourishing the education sector in the upcoming budget,” said the education minister.

She as the chief guest was speaking at a seminar titled “Next Budget and Education Sector: Our Expectation” at Jatiya Press Club here.

“As the government in its electoral manifesto gave utmost importance to make the education time-befitting, it will definitely provide satisfactory budgetary allocation for the sector…The government is very sincere to fulfill its pledge,” she added.

Executive Director of Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE) Rasheda K. Chowdhury addressed the seminar with Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique, former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, in the chair.

Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique said, if we want to develop education standard, we first need to increase the standard of teachers.

The recruitment process of teachers should be more transparent and they should be given logical allowances.
