DHAKA, April 23, 2019 (BSS) – Biman Bangladesh Airlines will resume Dhaka-Delhi-Dhaka direct flights from May 13 after more than five years with three flights a week initially.

The flights will operate every Monday, Thursday and Saturday with 162-seat Boeing 737 aircrafts, Biman’s spokesperson Shakil Meraj told BSS today.

With the resumption of Dhaka-Delhi flights, the national flag carrier will be the lone airline on this route. Earlier, Air India and Jet Airways used to operate flights on the route.

“We are expecting to make profit on this route as we will be the lone carrier,” Meraj, the General Manager (PR) of Biman said. The flights will depart at 3pm and reach Delhi at 5.20pm (local time) and return to Dhaka at 9.20 pm.

Biman fixed the minimum two-way fare at 300 US dollars and offered 15 percent opening discount on selling tickets on the route till May 30 next.

Biman had been operating flights to Delhi from the 1980s but suspended the service in 2013.
