Govt implements Tk600cr projects for Shariatpur: Shamim

DHAKA, April 23, 2019 (BSS) -Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim has said that the government is implementing multi faceted initiatives worth Taka 600 crore for the development of Shariatpur.

“The present government’s target is to establish Shariatpur as a model district in Bangladesh”, he said while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the submarine cable connectivity and power substation at Char Naopara on Monday.

“With the sincere initiatives taken by our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and with the grace of the modern technology, we were able to face the challenge of providing the three detached chars with 10-MW power through submarine cable in Shariatpur”, the deputy minister said at another function inaugurating the submarine cable connectivity and power sub-station at Char Atra of Naria Upazila.

Member of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (REB) Md. Abdus Salam, DC of Shariatpur Kazi Abu Taher, SP of Sharitpur Abdul Momen, secretary general of Shariatpur AL Anol Kumar Dey, vice president Alhaz Abdul Bepari, Naria upazla chairman AKM Ismail Haque, Vedorganj upazilla chairman Md. Humayun Kobir Molla, among others, spoke at the meeting.
