KHARTOUM, April 21, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – More talks have been planned between Sudan’s new army rulers and protest leaders over the transfer of power to a civilian administration, a protest leader told state television Saturday after a meeting with the ruling military council.

“We clarified our main demand, which is the transfer of power to civilian authorities,” Siddiq Yousef said after Saturday’s talks with the army rulers ended.

“This is the main demand of the popular movement…. We agreed to continue negotiations to reach a solution that satisfies both the sides, so that the transfer of power will happen in a peaceful way.”
