Bangladesh mission in Delhi celebrates Bangabandhu’s birthday

 NEW DELHI, March 17, 2018 (BSS)- The 99th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children Day was celebrated today at Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi.

Children read out the messages from President M Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali.

Awami League Presidium member Dr. Md Abdur Razzak, former Foreign Minister Dipu Moni, who is also the Joint General Secretary of Awami League and High Commissioner Syed Muazzem Ali spoke at the function recalling different aspects of life and achievements of Bangabandhu, the greatest Bengalee ever born.

Children of the staff of the mission participated in competition in painting, recitation of poems and storytelling focusing Bangladesh and Bangabandhu, the dreamer and architect of an independent nation.

Prizes were distributed among the winners by Tuhfa Zaman Ali, wife of the high commissioner.

The audience watched and enjoyed a documentary on the life and achievements of the Father of the Nation “Bangabandhu Forever in Our Hearts’ screened to mark the day.

Children joined the visiting dignitaries and the high commissioner in cutting a cake in tribute to Bangabandhu.
