Elderly woman killed in road mishap
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, April 11, 2019 (BSS) – An elderly woman was killed when a stone laden truck run over her in front of Kansat Pallibidyut Samity in Shibganj upazila on Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid highway on Thursday evening.
The deceased was identified as Sayera Begum, 70, wife of late Mozahar Ali of Sonamasjid Mirzapur under Shibganj upazila.
Police said, Sayera Begum was run over by a stone laden truck when she was crossing the road at 5 pm.
She died on the spot. The driver and the helper of the truck managed to flee away leaving the truck. Police seized the truck.
Being informed, police from Shibganj thana rushed to the spot, recovered the body.
