DHAKA, March 13, 2018 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today urged all concerned to create public awareness of the deadly disease cancer and its treatment.
“Increase mass awareness against cancer,” the President told a delegation of Bangladesh Medical Physics Society (BMPS) that made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban here.
Noting that the incidence of cancer is now on the rise, President Hamid asked all concerned to take pragmatic steps to make the general people aware of the cancer treatment, President Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.
Terming the treatment of cancer as costly, Abdul Hamid called for proper initiatives to keep its treatment facilities within the common people’s means.
He also urged the BMPS to come forward with specific proposals in this regard.
The President was apprised by the delegation of the International Conference on Medical Physics Radiation Oncology and Imaging (ICMPROI) -2018 and its outcome and various activities of the society.
BMPS president Prof Dr Hasin Anepama Azhari led the delegation. Secretaries concerned and senior civil and military officials were present during the meeting.
