Khalid Mahmood condoles death of fireman Sohel Rana
DHAKA, APRIL 8, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmood
Chowdhury today expressed deep shock at the death of firefighter Sohel Rana.
Sohel Rana, who sustained severe injuries during the rescue operation of
FR Tower where a devastating fire broke out on March 28, died at a hospital
in Singapore early today.
In a condolence message, Khalid Mahmood said Sohel Rana would remain as
an example of sacrificing own life for saving lives of others in the country.
He also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed
profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Sohel Rana, a fireman of Kurmitola Fire Station, sustained serious
injuries while going to save the life of the people trapped inside the FR
Tower in Banani. Soon after the incident, he was rushed to the Combined
Military Hospital in Dhaka.
On April 5, he was sent to Singapore by an air ambulance at the
directives of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for better treatment.
