Met office forecasts rainfall at many places across country

DHAKA, April 08, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD)
today forecasted rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or
squally wind at many places over the country in 24 hours commencing at 9 am
today.

“There is no heavy rainfall warning in the country. . . But rain or
thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to
occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna,
Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls and
isolated hails at some places over the country,” said a met office release
here issued this noon.

Day and night temperature may fall by (1-2)oC over the country, the
release said.

Yesterday’s highest temperature was recorded 33.2 degrees Celsius at
Patuakhali in Barishal division and today’s minimum temperature 17.8 degrees
Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division.

Today’s sunset at Dhaka would be at 06:17 pm while tomorrow’s sunrise
would be here at 05:45am.

Meanwhile, rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary westerly or
northwesterly squalls speed 60-80 KPH is likely to occur over the regions of
Rajshahi, Pabna, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore,
Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and
Sylhet wherein riverports shall hoist warning signal no two, the release also
said.

However, there is no marine warning and no signals to be hoisted in sea,
it added.
