GAZIPUR, March 8, 2018 (BSS) – A fire broke out at a cotton godown of a spinning mill at Baniarchala area in the city on Thursday morning.
Deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service Aktaruzzaman Liton said the fire broke out at the godown of the spinning mill named Mosharraf Composite Textile Ltd. At about 4 am and engulfed the ground floor.
Being informed, seven firefighting units from Sreepur, Joydevpur,Tongi, and Bhaluka rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control at about 9 am after five hours of frantic efforts, he said.
Machineries and a number of cotton belts were gutted in the fire. However, the origin of the fire could not be known immediately.
