DHAKA, May 5, 2017 (BSS) – Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor today said theater is an excellent form of art that could motivate young people towards healthy cultural practices.
“Theater art is very vibrant format of cultural arena. It should be promoted to combat militancy,” he told the inaugural function of the two-day Asian Theater Summit-2017 at Bangladesh Shilpokola Academy here.
Bangladesh Shilpokola Academy, Peoples’ Theater Association and International Theater Association (ITA) jointly are organizing the theater summit.
President of International Theater Institute Ramendu Majumdar, Cultural personality Nasir Uddin Yousuf, artists and officials, among others, addressed the function with Director General of Shilpokola Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky in the chair.
Describing different formats of culture, Noor said, “There are huge impacts of cultural practices on our life. So, we have been using all formats of arts and culture to build a prosperous nation.”
