Indo-Bangla customs meeting begins Sunday

DHAKA, March 28, 2019 (BSS) – A two-day meeting of the customs officials
of Bangladesh and India would begin on Sunday, aiming to ease bilateral trade
and stop smuggling.

National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan would
inaugurate the meeting in city’s Hotel InterContinental, reveled Directorate
of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (CIID) Director General Dr Md
Shahidul Islam at a press conference today at his office.

Principle Director General of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence
(DRI) Debi Prasad Dash would lead the eight-member Indian delegation while
the 13-member Bangladesh team will be headed by CIID Director General, he
added.

In the meeting, different issues would be tabled to boost up bilateral
trade, said Islam.

CIID additional director generals Abdul Hakim and Shamima Akhter were
present.
