Kuwait assures Bangladesh of further cooperation in HR sector

DHAKA, March 6, 2018 (BSS) – Kuwait has assured Bangladesh of further cooperation in human resource sector recognising the contribution of Bangladeshi expatriate workers towards the socio-economic development of the middle-eastern oil rich nation

The assurance came when State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam held a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of Kuwait Khaled Sulaiman Al Jarallah in Kuwait city yesterday afternoon, according to a message received here today.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to work together to establish centres of excellence for Kuwait-bound Bangladeshi workers. The Deputy Foreign Minister of Kuwait also assured of addressing different challenges faced by Bangladesh community in Kuwait.

Terming the relations between the two countries ‘more than excellent’, the two sides agreed to cooperate in various fields and to expand the scope of the partnership in the fields of trade, investments, energy and power, defence, human resources, infrastructure and blue economy.

They with deep respect recalled the relations between Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah that laid the foundation of friendship between the two countries.

State Minister of Bangladesh appreciated the development assistance extended by Kuwait in different development project in Bangladesh while Kuwait Deputy Minister assured of continued and increased assistance in future.

Jarallah recalled with profound regards Bangladesh’s valued contribution to liberate and rebuild Kuwait.

The two sides also agreed to increase the official contacts at all levels and to reinvigorate the bilateral mechanisms on a regular basis between the two Foreign Ministries.

Bangladesh State Minister appreciated the leading role of Kuwait in the field of humanitarian assistance including its humanitarian assistance to the forcibly displaced Rohingya people who took shelter in Bangladesh.

They also exchanged views on different regional and international issues of common interest as well as cooperation in the UN, OIC, ACD and other international bodies.

Shahriar had also a meeting with the Chairman of the KCCI (Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industries) Ali Mohammed Thunayan Al-Ghanim at Kuwait Chamber.

The State Minister is expected to have a meeting with the Labour Minister and other dignitaries in Kuwait.
