Asaduzzaman for imparting ethics, social values to young learners

DHAKA, March 23, 2019 (BSS)- Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan today urged the teachers to let the students know about morality and social values at primary education level.

“Primary education is the basis of building a life. So, proper concept of ethics and values should be imparted to students from the primary level of education,” he told a view-exchange with a delegation of primary education family at his own residence at Manipuripara in the city.

Mentioning the government’s efforts for developing the standard of primary education, the minister said if the primary education system is enlightened, the country will get enlightened.

Asaduzzaman said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had nationalized 37,173 primary schools in 1973 and his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has nationalized 26,135 registered, non-registered and community primary schools in 2013.

He expressed his hope that the country will attain 100 percent literacy rate by 2030.

The minister said the government has made a unique example for the development of women education.

Tejgaon Thana Education Officer Md Mainul Hossain conducted the function while Bangladesh Government Primary School Teachers’ Association President Md Zahidur Rahman Biswas were present on the occasion, among others.
