DHAKA, March 3, 2018 (BSS) – Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan today said the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Guard Police (BGP) of Myanmar will patrol the border areas jointly from March 27 as a previous agreement.

“Myanmar deployed their solders in the border areas over wrong information and now they have removed heavy weapons from the Tambru border,” he said, speaking at a function of Christian community in city’s Firmgate area.

Khan said, “The border situation is now under control… BGB and BGP will petrol their respective border areas jointly.”

In reply to a query of journalists, the home minister said, “I hope that the Rohingya people would be able to return their homeland (Myanmar) soon and the international pressure on the Myanmar authorities will continue to bring them back”.
