Azeri envoy visits Summit Power Plant in Narayanganj
NARAYANGANJ, March 18, 2019 (BSS)- Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bangladesh based in Delhi Dr Ashraf Shikhaliyev along with deputy chief of mission Babak Ahmadov visited the Summit Narayanganj power plant at the invitation of vice-chairman of Summit Group Jafer Ummeed Khan.
The Azeri envoy remarked, “It was interesting to know about the great work of the power plant of Summit. I was impressed by the good management and the beautiful location of the plant.”
Vice-Chairman of Summit Group Jafer Ummeed Khan said, “Azerbaijan has successfully implemented 100 per cent electrification of its population which we in Bangladesh are striving to accomplish.”
Azerbaijan and Bangladesh share a warm bilateral relationship, said a press release.
After Azerbaijan’s independence in 1991, Bangladesh was one of the first countries to recognize the country.
Bangladesh exports pharmaceuticals to Azerbaijan, the release added.
