DHAKA, Mar 15, 2019 (BSS)- President Abdul Hamid today laid emphasis on boosting of the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector for accelerating economic progress in the country.
In a message on the occasion of the National SME Fair-2019, the President said, “The SME sector is keeping a remarkable contribution to employment generation, poverty reduction and removal of social inequality.”
Abdul Hamid said, “The present government has set targets to build a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed country by 2041. I hope the SME industry will supplement the efforts of the government in building a middle-income country and developed country within scheduled time.”
“I am delighted that SME Foundation is going to hold National SME Fair-2019, which will keep a significant contribution to flourishing local industry,” he added.
There is huge potentiality of SME industry, the President said adding, that both public and private sector should work together for maximizing potentiality of SME industry.
