Dipu for developing sense of patriotism of students
SHARIATPUR, March 15, 2019 (BSS) – Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni today called for developing sense of patriotism among students to build an economically advanced nation.
“Students should be taught moral education to build them as worthy citizens side by side with doing brilliant results in the examinations,” he told a function at Shariatpur Govt. College here.
Dr Dipu said action would be taken against the teachers who would be found involve with coaching business.
She urged the teachers to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and invest more time in classroom for ensuring good academic atmosphere in educational institutions.
Dr Dipu said despite a number of challenges, Bangladesh has made a remarkable progress in education sector.
“Over the years, enrolment of students at primary and secondary levels has increased to a great extent due to distribution of free textbook among the students at primary and secondary levels,” she said, adding, “Eradication of gender disparity in primary and secondary education has already been acknowledged in different international forums,” she added.
Local Lawmaker Iqbal Hossain Apu, former lawmaker Prof Apu Ukil, Chairman of Shariatpur District Parishad Sabedur Rahman Khoka Sikdar and Deputy Commissioner Kazi Abu Taher, among others, spoke.
Principal of the college Prof md Monwar Hossain presided over the function.
