Palak for expediting the digital lab activities

RAJSHAHI, March 15, 2019 (BSS)- State Minister for Information,
Communication and Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak has urged all concerned to
expedite the activities of digital laboratories and centres for welfare of
the public in general.

He also asked them to bring dynamism into the online-based service
delivery activities so that the general public can derive total benefits of
the online services.

He was addressing a view-sharing meeting with Monitoring Officers, ICT
Computer Teachers and Union Digital Center Entrepreneurs related to the
progress of Sheikh Russell Digital Lab and Sheikh Russell Language Training
Lab and Info Government Phase-3 Connectivity at conference hall of Deputy
Commissioner’s office here yesterday.

Prof Dr Monsur Rahman, MP, addressed the meeting as special guest with
Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader in the chair.

State Minister Palak said there is no need for going to government
offices to get their necessary public services at present as the public
services are available in online and anyone can get those through mobile
apps.

He told the meeting that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Silicon City project
is being implemented on 31.63 acres of land in Rajshahi city that will
contribute positively to the socio-economic improvement of the region.

Palak mentioned that more than 14,000 people, mainly the young, will be
employed here with the construction of the Silicon City. A ten storied
building will be constructed here and another five-story building covering
62,000 square feet will be constructed which will be used as IT Incubator-
cum-Training Centre.

He added that programmes for setting up hi-tech and ICT parks in
different areas of the country were already taken with the main thrust of
creating world standard business environment, attracting investment from both
home and abroad and capacity building of local entrepreneurs aims at building
digital Bangladesh for successful implementation of the present government’s
Vision 2021.
