Independent Bengali nation emerged in 71’s March: Mozammel Huq

DHAKA, Mar 12, 2019 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel
Huq today said the fierce and flaming March of 1971 was the month of
revolution as well as the evolution of the Independent Bengali nation.

The minister said, “The month of March in 1971 created the independent
Bangladesh through the great Liberation War.”

Mozammel Huq was speaking at a discussion titled ‘The flaming March and
the rise of Bengali Ethnicity’ in city’s Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad
Auditorium of Bangla Academy today, said a press release.

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Bangla Academy
Director General Habibullah Sirajee, Cultural personality Ramendu Majumdar,
another NU Pro-VC Prof Dr Hafiz Muhammad Hassan Babu and Treasurer Professor
Noman Ur Rashid, university teachers and officials, among others, were
present on the occasion.

Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury as a special guest said the Liberation War was
achieved ultimately under the great leader and Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through the Bangalis movement, struggle and
dream.

NU Pro-VC Dr Mashiur Rahman delivered the welcome speech while Bangla
Academy Registrar Mollah Mahfuz Al-Hossain conducted the programme.

A prize-giving ceremony among the winners of the Inter-Collegiate Cultural
Competition-2018 was also held with Vice-Chancellor (VC) of National
University (NU) Professor Dr Harun-or-Rashid in the chair.

In the cultural competition, 24 winners of 18 colleges were awarded.

Later, a cultural event was also held there.
