Govt implementing Tk 2,279cr project to materialize Delta Plan-2100
SANGSAD BHABAN, March 11, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Water Resources Jahid Faruk told parliament today the government in first phase has been implementing a project involving Taka 2,279,54 crore as part of the plan of materializing Delta Plan-2100.
The project of Taka 2,279,54 crore has been taken to re-excavate the small rivers, canals and water bodies across the country, he said while replying to a tabled question by a treasury bench member Mahfuzur Rahman from Chattogram-3 constituency.
“We have taken the project in November last for increasing navigability of the small rivers, canals and water bodies in 64 districts and to increase water-holding capacity and conduct research on underground water and preserve biodiversity,” he added.
