Six get life-term jail for killing SSC examinee in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Feb 27, 2018 (BSS) – A Chittagong court today sentenced six persons to life-term imprisonment and another to five years rigorous imprisonment for killing an SSC examinee.

Special Judge of Public Safety Tribunal Saiyda Hosney Ara pronounced the verdict convicting Mahabubul Alam, Habibur Rahman, Aminul Hoque, Milon Barua, Abul Kashem and Nurul Alam.

The court also fined the convicts Taka 30,000 each, in default, to suffer one year more imprisonment.

The court sentenced Samir Das to five years imprisonment and acquitted Yunus, Abu Sayed, Monir and Selim of the charges.

The prosecution story is, in brief, that the convicts kidnapped and killed SSC examinee Subash Barua, 16,

son of Dilip Barua, at Sattarpitua village under Patiya upazila on June 21, 1991.

Victim’s father Dilip Barua filed a case with Patiya thana on June 22, 1991.
