KHULNA, Feb 26, 2018 (BSS) – Water Resource Minister Anwar Hossain Monju said the government will take adequate measures to solve water logging problem and remove salinity in the country’s southwestern region.
“To construct and repair embankment and to reserve safe water, Water Development Board (WDB) will take steps in a planned way in the natural disaster prone costal belt,” he said while addressing a view exchange meeting with WDB officials in Khulna zone as the chief guest on Sunday.
Monju, also the chairman of Jatiya Party (JP-Manju) asked officials concerned to supervise and implement of all government projects which had taken earlier.
Lawmakers Mizanur Rahman Mizan and Swapon Bhattacharia, chief engineer of WDB, Khulna zone Md Lutfar Rahman, among others, were present at the meeting.
Later, the minister joined a reception hosted by Barisal Welfare Association here at a city hotel.
