Bangabandhu’s 7th March address everlasting on earth: President

DHAKA, Mar 6, 2019 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today said Bangabandhu’s landmark 7th March speech is one of the timeless speeches in the world which was a great source of inspiration to the freedom-loving people to jump into a war to free the nation from the Pakistani subjugation.

“Bangabandhu’s March 7 speech will not only remain as an everlasting source of inspiration for us but also for the world people,” he said in a message on the eve of the historic March 7. The President said the speech is a unique example of how an address aroused an entire nation to jump into the Liberation War for attaining independence.

Though late, the UNESCO has recognized the speech as a world’s documentary heritage by including it in the Memory of the World Register after realizing its significance, he added.

Abdul Hamid said turning the independent and sovereign Bangladesh into a happy and prosperous Sonar Bangla was Bangabandhu’s cherished dream for his entire life.

“We will have to continue our efforts to materialize the dream of our great leader Bangabandhu,” he said.

He said Bangabandhu’s birth centenary will be observed in 2020 and the golden jubilee of independence will be observed in 2021.

To turn the country into a middle income one by 2021 and a developed and prosperous one by 2041, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced the visions 2021 and 2041.

The President urged the people irrespective of party and ideology to work together to implement the programmes.
