Call for strengthening community policing

 RANGPUR, Feb 25, 2018 (BSS) – Police officials here stressed on strengthening activities of the community policing for maintaining law and order through curbing crimes to ensure peace in the society.

“The door of police is open for all and the common people should provide information to police forces for preventing all types of social crimes,” said Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman while addressing the meeting as the chief guest.

The Ward No-10 unit of Community Policing Committee organised views- sharing meeting on Mulatol Girls’ High School ground here yesterday with its President Masum Hassan in the chair.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Circle A) Saifur Rahman Saif, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Thana Babul Mian, Member-secretary of the divisional and district community policing coordination committees Shushanto Bhowmick, addressed as special guests.

The speakers highly lauded the improving law and order situation in all wards of Rangpur city and suggested for further strengthening activities of the community policing in every ward to ensure peace and tranquility in the society.

Shushanto Bhowmick called upon members of the community policing for spontaneous efforts involving the common people and extending full cooperation to the police forces in preventing drug abuse, theft, robbery, mugging and other crimes.

Saifur Rahman Saif said members of the community policing should carefully monitor activities of new comers in their respective areas and inspire the people in extending full cooperation to the police forces for resisting militancy and terrorism.

The chief guest suggested community policing committee members for identifying local problems, conflicts and disputes to resolve those locally with assistance of the common people to reduce the number of cases in police stations.
