Khasru urges students to be vigilant against drugs

NETROKONA, March 2, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru today urged students to play a pioneering role against drugs and terrorism.

“Students should be vigilant so that drugs cannot enter the universities or other educational institutions in any way,” he said, speaking as chief guest at the orientation of the first batch of Sheikh Hasina University (SHU) of Netrokona here.

“The government is acquiring 500 acres of land to develop the university to the international standard…Taka 2600 crores has been allocated in the ECNEC meeting for building eye-catching infrastructures,” said the state minister.

He urged the syndicate members and others concerned to maintain the quality of education in the institution.

SHU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rafique Ullah Khan presided over the function. Secretary to Prime Minister’s office) Sazzadul Hassan and University Grants Commission (UGC) Member Dr Yusuf Ali Molla also spoke on the occasion, among others.

The students welcomed the state minister and the secretary to the Prime Minister’s office with flowers.
