Brazilian envoy lauds Bangladesh’s progress

DHAKA, April 26, 2017 (BSS) – The Brazilian outgoing Ambassador to Bangladesh Wanja Campos Da Nobrega yesterday lauded the present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for achieving remarkable progress in the country’s socio-economic sectors.

“Tremendous growth and progress have taken place in Bangladesh during my tenure here especially in the socio-economic sectors under the present government,” she said.

The Brazilian envoy made the observations when she paid a farewell call on Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali at the latter’s office here yesterday morning.

During the meeting, Foreign Minister Ali deeply appreciated the
contributions of Ambassador Wanja in advancing the bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and Brazil.

He also commended her role as the first female Dean of Diplomatic Core in Bangladesh and also admired her high esteem for the culture and tradition of Bangladesh.

Mahmood Ali stated that during her four years’ tenure in Dhaka, the
bilateral relations between the two countries has grown both in depth and dimensions.

In this connection, both of them noted with satisfaction that the first ever bilateral political consultations took place last month in Dhaka which would further impetus to the existing bilateral ties.

The Brazilian envoy also expressed her gratitude for all the support and cooperation which she has received during her stay here and stated that she is departing Bangladesh with good memories which she will cherish all her life.
