NAOGAON, Feb 23, 2018 (BSS) – Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim today said the government has been establishing welfare centers for mothers and newborns at every union of the country to provide more health care to them.
“The government was continuing establishing welfare centers for mother and newborn babies to provide them more care and facilities,” he said.
He said this while inaugurating two separate newly made 10-bed ‘Mother and Children Welfare Center’ at Ghoshongar and Akbar union under Patnitala upazila in Naogaon.
Director General of Family Planning and Additional Secretary Dr Kazi Mustafa Sarwar presided over the programme.
The government would recruit 10,000 doctors in its current term to smoothen health services in the public hospitals across the country, Nasim said.
Whip of Jatiya Sangsad M Shahiduzzaman Sarker, M Salimuddin Tarafder, Family Planning Director for Rajshashi Division Maloy Kumer Roy were present, among others.
