DHAKA, Feb 28, 2019 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed
deep shock and sorrow at the death of noted journalist and Director General
of Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) Shah Alamgir.
In a condolence message, the prime minister recalled with profound respect
Shah Alamgir’s contributions to the country’s field of journalism, saying his
death is an irreparable loss to this field.
She also said Shah Alamgir was always vocal in the struggle for realizing
rights of the newsmen alongside pursuing journalism.
Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed
profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Shah Alamgir passed away this morning while undergoing treatment at the
Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
