3-day South Asian Photo Festival begins in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Feb 22, 2018 (BSS) – The three-day South Asian Photo Festival-2018 kicked off here on Wednesday on the eve of the ‘Shaheed Dibosh’ and the International Mother Language Day-2018.

Rangpur Photographic Society (RPS) in association with Rangpur Photo Journalists’ Association (RPJA) organised the festival in Rangpur Public Library auditorium dedicating to the language movement martyrs.

Some 100 still photos of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Thailand and Sri Lanka are being exhibited. Venue is open to all from 10 am to 8 pm everyday and the festival will continue till February 23 (Friday).

Rangpur Divisional Commissioner (Additional Secretary) Kazi Hassan Ahmed formally inaugurated the photo festival as the chief guest.

Presided over by Convener of RPS Mahtab Litan, language movement veteran Anisul Haque Payara, Member of the central executive committee of Bangladesh Shilpokola Academy Biplob Prasad, President of Parbotipur Young Star Club in Dinajpur Amjad Hossain and Editor of the ‘Dainik Gano Alo’ Seraful Islam Himel attended the function as special guests.
