DHAKA, Feb 25, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Shipping
Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury today said the eviction drive against
illegally occupied riverbanks would continue to restore the
aesthetic beauty of rivers following the court order.
“The government would keep continue its zero tolerance
policy against illegal riverbank occupation,” he told a view-
exchange with Shipping Reporters’ Forum, Bangladesh (SRFB) at
the ministry conference room.
Led by SRFB president Rashed Al, general secretary Kazi
Jebel, executive member Ashish Sen, Shafiqul Islam, HR Sagar,
Kishore Sarker, Faruq Khan, Mahmud Akash, Tofajjal Hossain,
Tariqul Islam Sumon, Kamal Hossain Talukder, Tasnim Mohsin,
Gazi Shahnewaj, Mahfuzur Rahman Shuvo, Shafiqul Islam and
Rana Masud attended the meeting.
The state minister appreciated the activities of SRFB
saying the reporters’ forum on shipping beat is playing an
important role in enhancing transparence and accountability
of the ministry.
